The Board meets the second Monday of the month, as business warrants. To be heard at a Planning Board meeting a complete application with associated fees must be submitted to the Planning Director at least three weeks prior to the meeting date.

Effective 03/07/11The Planning Board consists of nine members, six (6) of whom are residents of the City of Mebane and appointed by the City Council, and three (3) members (two (2) from Alamance County and one (1) from Orange County) are residents of that area which is within one (1) mile outside of the corporate limits of the city and are appointed by their respective County Commissioners. All positions are for a term of four years. Vacancies occurring otherwise are for the unexpired term. When vacancies occur they will be published in the local paper and applications will be accepted from those who live within the designated area.

The Planning Board meets at City Hall on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Minutes of previous meetings as well as an agenda for the upcoming meeting are available both in the office of the Planning Administrator between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday - Friday, and at the public library. Please note that minutes are not available until approved at the following months meeting, and the agenda for the upcoming meeting is set approximately one week prior to the meeting date.
